Singer Jake Flint dies at 37 just hours after his wedding

Jake Flint, a country music singer on the “Oklahoma Red Dirt” music scene, died in his sleep just hours after his wedding on Saturday, November 26. He was 37.

Jake Flint has died hours after he married Brenda Cline on Saturday, November 26.

Flint’s publicist, Clif Doyal, told The Oklahoman that he passed in his sleep but didn’t reveal an exact cause of death.

“He was not only a client, he was a dear friend and just a super nice guy,” said Doyal. “As you can see from the outpouring on social media, he was loved by everybody. I think a lot of it was just that he was a people person, and he had an amazing sense of humor. He made everybody laugh, and he made everybody feel welcome.”

The Oklahoma music community flooded social media sites with messages of condolences.

His widow, Brenda Wilson, wrote on Facebook on Monday, Nov. 28: “We should be going through wedding photos but instead I have to pick out clothes to bury my husband in.”

“People aren’t meant to feel this much pain,” she continued. “My heart is gone and I just really need him to come back. I can’t take much more. I need him here.”

In another post shared shortly after his death, Wilson shared video footage of their rainy day wedding, captioning it, “I don’t understand.”

Flint’s manager, Brenda Cline, took to Facebook late Sunday night to mourn his passing.

She wrote: “I loved him much like a son. The funniest, most hilarious, hardest working, dedicated artist I have ever worked with in my career.”

“We need prayers — it’s all so surreal,” she continued. “Please please pray for his new wife Brenda, Jake’s precious mother, his sister, and the rest of his family and friends. This is going to be incredibly difficult for so many. We love you Jake and in our hearts forever.”

Flint was a proud “Oklahoma Red Dirt” singer/songwriter. Some of his biggest songs included “What’s Your Name?,” “Cowtown,” and “Long Road Back Home.”

In other news, the divorce finalization comes nine months after Kardashian was ruled legally single during a bifurcation hearing.

American rapper, Kanye West and his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, have officially ended their marriage.

The former couple finalized their divorce and came to an agreement about child custody and property.

According to divorce documents obtained by TMZ, Kanye and Kim will have joint physical and legal custody of their four children, and neither will pay the other spousal support.

However, Kanye will be required to pay Kardashian $200,000 a month in child support. He will also be responsible for half of the children’s medical, educational, and security expenses.

He also relinquished the $4.5 million home he bought across from Kim’s house last year after Kim filed for divorce, saying he bought the house to be close to his children. Kim will be responsible for all expenses related to the 5-bedroom home.

The settlement also states that he gets to keep his $60 million Malibu home, two ranches in Wyoming, 300 acres in Calabasas, a home in Belgium, and his childhood home, which he bought in Chicago.

The pair also agreed to settle disputes regarding the children by participating in mediation. However, if either party fails to take part, the other is allowed to make the decision in a dispute by default.

The couple’s assets, including their property, will be divided based on their prenuptial agreement.

The divorce finalization comes nine months after Kardashian was ruled legally single during a bifurcation hearing.

Kanye and Kim began dating in 2012 and had their first child in 2013. West proposed later that year, and they married in May 2014 in a lavish ceremony in Italy.

Kim filed for divorce from West in February 2021, citing irreconcilable differences after nearly seven years of marriage.
